Export import in Tunisia

The export of agri-food products is a major pillar of the Tunisian economy and a strategic lever for its positioning on international markets. Thanks to a favorable climate and diversified agriculture, Tunisia is recognized for the quality of its agri-food products, including olive oil, dates, citrus fruits and fishery products.

Tunisian olive oil , in particular, occupies a special place, being one of the first exported products. Renowned for its exceptional quality, it is exported to demanding markets such as the European Union, the United States, and increasingly to Asian countries. Tunisia is also regularly ranked among the world's leading exporters of olive oil, often winning awards in international competitions.

Tunisian dates, and in particular the Deglet Nour variety, are also highly prized worldwide. With exports to more than 80 countries, they are a symbol of Tunisian agricultural know-how.

In addition to these flagship products, the agri-food sector is increasingly moving towards the processing and enhancement of local raw materials, particularly with certified organic products. This approach responds to a growing demand for healthy and sustainable products, while making it possible to diversify exports and capture more added value.

However, to maximize its export potential, the sector faces challenges such as improving logistics infrastructure, complying with international health standards, and diversifying markets beyond traditional partners. With a targeted strategy and adequate support, Tunisian agri-food export can become a driver of sustainable growth for the national economy.
